What makes you special? What is it about you and that draws people to you? How do you further enhance or develop you and the way you connect to others in meaningful ways that leave long-lasting positive impressions? What is the impression that you make on people? Is the impression you are projecting the one you desire? Are you a person of influence? Do you and your personality draw people to you? These are questions to ask of yourself. Think of how you project you and yourself both internally and externally. They are both a part of you and your Leadership and Leadership Image.
You are your own brand. You own it. It is up to you to make it a success or even iconic. It is up to you. Your brand, like you, is 3-dimensional. There are 3C’s that will help you build you and your success. You may come naturally to one of them or more, or you may have to work to develop those areas. The three key traits that highly successful people have communication, charm, and charisma. It is not just how they look, it is how they act. They walk into the room and own it, they hang on to your every word and make you feel important and they have a way about them that everyone wants to be around them. It is a certain IT factor, and yes it can be developed, once you understand the elements. While
some people come to these 3C’s naturally, some were brought up with these elements and became natural, and others have been coached.
1. Develop Your Attraction
What is your special gift or quality? Do people look up to you, respect and admire you? How about those you work with your team, co-workers, and family? What is it about you that draws people to you? Developing attraction is not how you look, it is drawing positive things into your life. It is verbalizing and visioning success to draw more success. You are worthwhile. When you express positive affirmations about you, your goals and dreams they will begin to become realities and bring more success. It all starts with you and believing in yourself. Project positive energy and you will find that your life is filled with greater abundance.
2. Project A Positive Image
Your first impression is a lasting impression, so always work to make it count. Have you ever noticed how when some people walk into a room, they are almost magnetic, that people are drawn to them? They possess a magnetism that captivates those around them, they have an allure. What is it about that person? Often people think, I want that! You too can make positive first impressions, it is all about how you develop you and your image.
3. Be a Person of Influence
If you’re in business demonstrating effective communication skills, charisma and confidence can help you work with your team, suppliers, customers, advisors and everyone whom you depend for the success of your company and your personal life. People are naturally drawn to those who possess effective communication, charisma, and are confident. They want to help them and support them.
When you have the 3C’s of communication, charisma, and confidence, people will open doors for you, bring you opportunities that may otherwise not have been available to you. Life is sales. We are all influencers. A key element of sales and influencing others is listening and is the most effective skill of great communicators.
Top salespeople are generally more successful than average salespeople in getting along with their customers. They’re always more welcome, more positively received and more trusted than the others. They sell more, and they sell more easily. They make a better living, and they build better lives. Successful in sales derive greater pleasure from their work and prone to be top performers in their chosen fields. These individuals enjoy what they do, their products and services, their clients, have greater life satisfaction and are goal oriented. They know what they want, design goals, action plans and timelines to achieve their goals. They enjoy the rewards of success they achieve that accompany their accomplishments.
4. Accept Responsibility
Regardless of what you do in life, taking 100% responsibility is the first key step for life success. Own who you are and what you do. If you say you are going to do something, do it. Whatever it is, own it! Successful people know and understand that blaming others does not resolve situations. Stand up and take credit and thanks for the good things that happen in your life, and also stand up for those that may not be the success that you had hoped, but also use it as a learning opportunity. When it comes to excuses there are no excuses. When you take 100% responsibility and accountability for your actions, you are building you, your Leadership Image and success.
5. Be a Life-Long Learner
Always be curious and have a sense of wonder. Have the sense of wonder of a 5-year old. Expand your knowledge and areas of interest. It will make you more interested and interesting. The more you learn the more you understand how much more you need to know to continue to grow. Your mind has an unlimited capacity. Find your purpose and passion. These can change as you grow and evolve. Explore new areas of interest. Take time to invest in you. You are your greatest asset. An investment in you pays dividends
in your success.
Regardless of your job or title, these are great areas and habits for you to use in life, no matter what you do or how old you are. You are never too young or old to be your best you. Just make sure to be authentic and genuine. To be the best, you have to be your best YOU!
